Default Help! Chantix and Joint Pain

I took Chantix for a year from 2006 to 2007. In 2007, I started getting extreme joint pain that has gone undiagnosed. It is my hips, knees, ankles, shoulders and wrists. I cannot walk without a cane. I cannot do anything with my daughter. I have lost so much quality of life. I had to give up my dream house because I could not walk up the stairs. I had to give up my job because it was too much walking. I have lost nearly everything and I have no answers. I have read about Chantix and the joint pains it causes..please please HELP!! Is there a cure to this? Or am I, a 44 year old (formerly perfectly healthy) man, doomed to a life in a wheelchair that I am soon to have to depend on? I have to take 60 mg of oxycodone and 60 mg of morphine everyday just to be able to get through the day. I want my life back! I want to take my daughter to Disneyworld and be able to walk with her.

If you have any help or ideas, please let me know.

Unhappy joint pain

I started Chantix in February, quit smoking quickly with only positive side effects (better dreams, more energy, better mood.) however, toward the end (last pack), my hands and feet hurt SO BAD. I could not even open a bottle of water or a coca-cola. When I got out of bed in the morning, I almost fell on my face, as my feet hurt so bad. (Mainly the heel area and up the back of my foot.) Before I began taking this drug, I only found positive comments about it on the internet. Only a few about nausea and bad dreams. I felt it was worth it. I am not sure it was worth it. I am so depressed over all this pain. I have animals, gardens, etc., I have always been able to take care of myself.I love to write, and draw, my hands hurt so much I cannot do these things. Everything is falling apart. I did not get online, earlier, as all I had read about Chantix was positive. So, I thought, I will just start smoking again, maybe this pain is not worth it. Maybe it is withdrawals. This has been a nightmare. I am being referred to a rheumatologist. My ANA (blood tests) are positive. I remember this drug being around for quite some time, and talked to a few people I ran into at the grocery store that raved about it. Wow, didn't turn out that way for me. I don't know what to do.
