Angry keppra

Hello,I would like to know if anyone knows about keppra. My 86 yr old mother was given keppra to controll her seizures following a uti infection. She needed intensive antibiotics for 14 days in a sknf. I was never told she would be given this keppra during the antibiotic treatment. She is now moments from death after being in a vegetated state following her release from the hospital and into the sknf. 500 mg seems like a lot of medication for a woman her age and weight of less than 100 lbs. If anyone knows anything about this medication please let me know. I really need to know what happened to my mother. Thank you and please keep my mother in your prayers.
