Default Difference b/w hard & soft food

My elder daughter was playing outside. The ground was slippery after the rain. I warned her to be careful with the floor. But, she slipped and fell down on the floor. Her face got injured and mouth part got injured. Her lips were bruised. Also, she lost a part of her front teeth. I took her to a dental clinic which provides emergency dental services ( ). Her teeth were fixed using dental veneers.
The dentist advised taking special care of her diet for a few days. He asked me to make her eat soft foods for a while, and not to give her any hard foods. I don't know the difference between hard and soft foods. Is there anybody over here who can tell me the difference between two?
