My husband suffers from degenerative back disease and has been taking Bextra for over 6 months with no side effects, so I suggested to my 86 year old father that he try it for the arthritis in his legs and neck. He felt great for about a week/ten days and then his ankles began to swell. This problem also occurred when he tried vioxx last year. He is now off it and the swelling is going down. I just think that it depends on the person and their own bodies reaction to the drug.
