Default too young

I have been taking Bextra for about 5 months. I went to the doctor for a physical and asked about getting a medication for my unbearable stomach cramps from my menstral cycle. She gave me Bextra despite being under the age of 18! I only took about 4 10mg tablets a month and it worked fantastically other than nausea. Not long after having started taking the medication I started getting really bad growing pains in my knees. These pains stopped when I ran out of Bextra, but I didn't think anything of it. Yesterday, my mother went to the doctor and asked for another perscription for me. A different doctor said absolutly no because I was too young and that it could affect my growth plates (as if I'm not short enough all ready!). Shouldn't it be mandatory for doctors to hand out brochures on medications warning the patient of possible side-effects?
